Kitchen Week 5

Today i designed a Kitchen off the top of my head. So far I'm pretty happy with how its turning out. Theres a kitchen sink that looks out a window, a water mixer with out the head of the tap (I'm having trouble with the tap head) and a pantry. Its not really Surreal as of yet, i plan on making some funky furniture for the kitchen.

^The sinks for the bench were created from discs, i also smoothed the polygons to give it a smoother edge^

^The mixer tap has two colors, red and blue. The idea behind this tap is that you turn the colors to make the right temperature. I created the mixer by bevelling^

^I added in a pantry, this pictures shows it without shelves^

^The shelves were made with the box tool. I made them on a seperate layer and copied and pasted them into the kitchen^

Spoon, fork, knife and glass

This week I managed to create a spoon, fork, knife, a glass and a hollow box. I'm starting to get the hang of the program, some of the tools are still a little confusing though. It also makes it hard cause I don't have the program on my computer.

Week 2-Bowl, Surreal Kitchen

Below are four pictures of my bowl. Two are plain and two are colored. I'm pretty happy with how they have turned out. The process wasn't very difficult to achieve the end result.

The next step for my bowl was to make it Surreal. I used different points from the bowl and dragged them towards the center to give an edge like appeal to it. I came into trouble with the process as i lost the base of my bowl. After the bowl we did another exercise which helped me add the base of the bowl back in.

The next exercise that helped me with the bowl was adding a cone shape into a cube.

The next step was using Lightwave to add some lighting to give the bowl some shine and to bring out the texture.

Lightwave

This is my first attempt at using Lightwave and Modeler. I think it was rather successful, except for the fact that we are using a demo version and cant use the full potential of the program just as yet. Also I had trouble adding texture/colour to my 3D robot/human form. Hopefully the demo version I was using had a slight glitch which didn't allow me to add texture/colour.
Im looking forward to this program, but i know its going to be tedious and frustrating .
