I have finally finished my skate park. I had some difficulties getting a jpg into the background to make the scene more realistic, but it just didn't want to work. So I stuck with default colors.
I changed my mind with having solid backs on the 1/4 pipes, I thought I'd be creative and just have them with a flat platform, which I think adds more dynamics and makes them seem futuristic.
Between last week and this week I added more 1/4 pipes, a half pipe and a half pipe with a spine ramp.
I've also managed to do an animation panning around the skate park.

Full scene so far

Here is the full scene so far. Still need to add some more objects.

Week 11

This week I have managed to complete 2 bowls, a fun box and a park bench.

To create the bowls I used a cylinder and balls, which I then booleened from boxes.

So that all the skaters can get a glimpse of the action from the bowls, I created a park bench so they can sit and enjoy the show.

The funbox is my favorite object I've made so far. I used a lot of boxes which I rotated to make the up and down ramps. I also had to Booleen the bottom of the funbox as there was over hang from the ramps. I added a ledge to the box which has coping from grinding on. On the other side of the ledge there is a pimple to help the skater skate on the other side of the ledge.

Because I didnt have colors added to the funbox, the coping was hard to spot. So I added some colors. The skate park is going to be flat white and the rails and coping a n iron color.

Beginning Of The Skate Park

Today I started the skate park before I had to go to work.
I thought I'd struggle with making some of the objects but once I figured out how to create them it was smooth sailing.
So far today I've created a rail, I changed the dimensions of the box to give it a smooth curved edge. The other object is a spine ramp with a twist instead of a usual spine ramp where both sides of the ramp match up, I used three 1/4 pipes and joined them together with a rail. I'm having trouble trying to get some kind of backing on the 1/4 pipes though. Ive tried the Boolean tool but it doesn't work. I'll have to keep playing around with it.
Below are some images of the work so far.

Skate Park

Ive decided that I want to create a skate park. I think it will be fun and interesting to create. Ive done some research and found three pics of parks that have a good variety of ramps.

This park is interesting because they have used up nearly every space with skateable objects.

The next two pics are of skate parks that i think would be fun to skate and as a skateboarder be able to create some good lines.

Week 9

Today I was still unsure of what to create for the final assessment.
I had in my head that I was going to recreate my car in 3D, but decided against it because it wasn't something I could concentrate on. Then i decided maybe I could create a Ninja Turlte, but i tried that and it wasn't looking to good, plus Modeller decided to shit itself and lose my work. Maybe i pushed a wrong button. So my Ninja Turtle idea changed again. So now I've planned to build my house or a skatepark. I think either of the two would look pretty good in 3D.

Here are some images of a simple little shelter I've produced trying which I was trying to figure out how to get the roof line right. Its all together just not nicely flush. For homework I'm going to try and get it flush. It does make quite a good effect on the roof though.

Assignment 1

My kitchen is finished and im really happy with how it turned out. The Salvador Dali look I went for looks good and adds the surreal kitchen look.

Week 6-Preparing kitchen for week 7

This week I've been finishing up my kitchen so I can add my utensils into it. My idea to make my kitchen surreal is to set it out like a Salvador Dali painting, i plan on having the utensils bent over the bench, table and maybe the fridge.

Here are some images of what I created this week:

Finished Tap - I used the magic bevel tool to finish off the tap. I had some trouble trying to get the right bend, but after some mucking around I finally got it the way I wanted.

Table - Is made out of a disc which I used cubes to subtract holes to the chairs could be placed nicely under the table

Photobucket

Chairs - The chairs started off as a cube, which i rounded the edges of. I then created a ball and subtracted the ball from the rounded box, which created the actual seat of the chair.

Fridge - The fridge I decided to go for one with an ice maker and a chrome finish. It was created with cubes. The ice maker was created by subtracting a cube from the fridge.

Photobucket

Microwave - The microwave was created the same as the ice maker on the fridge. By having two cubes and subtracting one from the other. I have a glass texture on the door and for the rotating plate inside the microwave.

Kitchen Week 5

Today i designed a Kitchen off the top of my head. So far I'm pretty happy with how its turning out. Theres a kitchen sink that looks out a window, a water mixer with out the head of the tap (I'm having trouble with the tap head) and a pantry. Its not really Surreal as of yet, i plan on making some funky furniture for the kitchen.

^The sinks for the bench were created from discs, i also smoothed the polygons to give it a smoother edge^

^The mixer tap has two colors, red and blue. The idea behind this tap is that you turn the colors to make the right temperature. I created the mixer by bevelling^

^I added in a pantry, this pictures shows it without shelves^

^The shelves were made with the box tool. I made them on a seperate layer and copied and pasted them into the kitchen^
